House Address Markers
An observation by the Chesapeake City firemen when they toured Elk
Forest was that they had trouble finding house numbers. That is a real
problem for emergency response folks since they need to be able to see the
house numbers to respond quickly.
Chesapeake
City fire company had initiated a program to solve this problem. They are
offering to supply us with reflective address markers that can be read
from both sides and can be attached to a post, tree or mailbox post near
your driveway. The Rising Sun fire company initiated a program similar to
this a while back and the signs are familiar to all Emergency Responders
so they can easily identify you property.
Order forms were available at the Civic Association meeting but if you
didn't get one and would like to spend the $15.00 that might save your
home or your life, you can still print a form from the Chesapeake City VFC
website. Please print this form, fill it in and send it with a check for
$15 to the Chesapeake City fire company. The address is on the form.
Be nice to your neighbor! If your neighbor doesn't have Internet
access, please print a form and give it to them too!
Get the form from the Chesapeake City VFC by clicking
here. There is a link from the Chesapeake City VFC website to print
the form.
